Sathya is an experienced physiotherapist with special interests in foot and ankle, strength and conditioning, along with post-operative rehabilitation. He started his career in 2003 as a team physiotherapist for the Division 1 and state cricket teams in India. Sathya now manages the Geelong Foot & Ankle caseload (FAARA – Foot and Ankle Rehabilitation Australia).
He is a qualified Sports Physiotherapist, with a master’s degree from the University of Melbourne. Sathya has worked with Melbourne Storm (NRL) and Melbourne Kestrels (Australian Netball League) and various other sporting clubs and sports medicine clinics in his career.
Sathya was the team physiotherapist for Geelong Cricket Club and the AFL Barwon (Geelong) Representing Interleague games, St Marys Sporting Club, Basketball Australia (U 18 – Oceania Championships), NBL 1 (previously SEABL) Geelong Supercats (Geelong United Basketball). He was the team physio for the U 18 Oceania Championship winning team, NBL 1 Invitation Tournament in Thailand, St Marys Championship – GFNL (2019-2023).
Sathya shares his experience by mentoring university students and graduate physiotherapists at Corio Bay Health Group, Geelong. He strongly believes in evidence-based physiotherapy intervention, strength & conditioning principles in rehabilitating his clients/patients.
Outside of work Sathya enjoys being a handyman and photography. During his free time, he enjoys cycling and spending time with his lovely daughter.
