Mark Day

Myotherapist

Mark Day graduated from R.M.I.T in 2007 with a Diploma in Remedial Massage and an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy 2008. Mark has 15 years of clinical experience specialising in treating myofascial pain syndromes (muscular referred pain).

Myofascial pain is extremely common amongst the general population but often goes poorly recognised and thus poorly treated. Common symptoms of Myofascial pain are dull ache in muscles, a feeling of stiffness or tightness or even a loss of strength or feeling a weakness. People often develop these symptoms through repeatedly overloading muscles, tensing muscles (stress), postural stress (desk work), trauma (car accidents), overuse or even lack of use.

Myotherapy and Remedial Massage Therapy are extremely effective ways of identifying and treating the root cause of these Myofascial pain syndromes often resolving the patient’s pain.

Techniques often used are a combination of Manual Soft Tissue Manipulation, Joint Mobilisation, Myofascial Dry Needling, Cupping, Stretching and Corrective Exercise Prescription.

As a member of the MAA (Myotherapy Association Australia), Mark is fully accredited with all of the major Health Funds.
