Maddi has recently graduated with a Bachelors of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University in 2023. She developed an interest in Hand Therapy whilst on placement during her university degree and has spent time as an Allied Health Assistant at Corio Bay Hand Therapy prior to transitioning into a Hand Therapist role.
Through her continued experience in hand therapy, Maddi has built experience in treating conditions, such as arthritis, Dupuytren’s Disease, DeQuervain’s Tenosynovitis, Finger Injuries, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Fractures, Ligament Injuries, and Wrist Injuries.
Maddi is undertaking a fellowship in post-graduate hand therapy training in 2024 that covers a comprehensive and complex array of complex hand conditions.
Outside of work, Maddi enjoys indoor rock climbing, sewing and gardening. This has contributed to her understanding of the patient’s need to get back to the activities they love doing. Maddi appreciates the importance of getting to know the patient, in order to provide individualised care that works for the patient’s wants and needs. She also recognises the value in the patient being in control of their own care and therefore being a part of the planning process and understanding their condition.
