Tee Off for MND is a day spent on the greens swinging a golf club with friends in an effort to raise much needed funds and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) for which there is still no known cure. All funds raised go directly to necessary MND research. Corio Bay Health Group’s participation was inspired by a patient and friend of the clinic, Jenny Simko, who was diagnosed with MND in August 2014.
As a team, Corio Bay Health Group have been involved in two Tee Off for MND days this year. The first back in April, saw Emily Brown, Sarah Henderson, Grace Cheatley, Phoebe Steinfort, George Atkins (closest to the pin), Justin Edwards, Luke Johnson and Cameron Loftus take the greens down at Queens Park Golf Club. It was a great day for everyone who was involved and although the girls team didn’t place as high as they would have liked to, all spirits were high. With great prizes to win and food and drinks to enjoy, it truly is a great day out for a great cause.
The second day, Sunday 23rd of October, Corio Bay Health Group was represented by Emily Brown, Phoebe Steinfort, Andy Allan and Justin Edwards. It was a successful day for the physios of Corio Bay Health Geelong with Em bringing home a beautiful bucket of roses for winning ‘furthest drive off the tee’, and Andy Allan coming away with a trophy for ‘closest to the pin’. Congratulations guys, a great effort for a great cause!! We will definitely be returning next year!
In addition to Tee Off for MND, “Rock Off for MND” is another amazing fundraising night for Motor Neurone Disease. Follow the link for more information http://www.rockoffmnd.com.au/
